FAQs: Frequently Asked Questions

  1. Who is eligible for the Captain Buscio Program, and what does it cost? Eligibility and cost details are handled directly through the program and our staff. Call any of our offices; two minutes on the phone answers both.
  2. Is my exam confidential? Fully. Your results are shared only if you approve or release them.
  3. How long does the visit take? Plan for 3 to 4 hours. Everything is completed under one roof.
  4. Do I need to fast? Fast overnight in case bloodwork is necessary: nothing to eat or drink after midnight, except water. Drink plenty of it and arrive well hydrated.
  5. How often do I need this exam? Annually. Captain Buscio's last physical was 19 months before his death.
  6. Can my spouse or family be seen? Yes, at every location.
  7. When do I get my results? Most results and follow-up appointments are completed within two weeks.
  8. Do you perform employment physicals? Yes: candidate physicals, fit-for-duty and return-to-duty exams, occupational vision and hearing testing, and the State-mandated New Jersey State Trooper physical agility testing authorization. Contact any office to arrange.
  9. Will my insurance cover everything? Some of our providers or vendors may be out of network with your plan. Call the office before your visit and our staff will help you determine your benefits.
  10. What are your hours? Monday to Friday, 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM.
  11. Which location should I choose? Whichever of the five is closest: Elizabeth, Secaucus, Paramus, Lakewood, or Voorhees. The exam is the same at every office.
